DARREN DOUTHITT

Senior Consultant

Darren Douthitt retired after spending 27 years serving public schools in Alabama.  He served students in various school districts and held positions as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent.  The last ten years of his career were spent as a superintendent in Butler County and Anniston City Schools. He is currently working as an educator in Douglas County Schools in Georgia.

As a superintendent Douthitt received acclaim for enhancing technology, reducing costs, expanding career technical education, cultivating district and community relations and improving teacher recruitment.  He has expertise in mentoring, school consolidation, district accreditation, classroom management, board and superintendent relations and tax renewal initiatives.

Douthitt is very active in his community, serves on various boards and participates in various professional organizations.  Douthitt is currently the president of the Jacksonville State University Annual Fund Board.  He is also a past president of the Jacksonville State University Alumni Association.  He is a member of the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame Committee, president of the Epsilon Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and a board member for the Agency for Substance Abuse in Calhoun County.

A native of Ohatchee, Alabama, Douthitt presently lives in Dearmanville, Alabama with his wife, Tonya, and his adult son, Jaren.
